From September 22-25, 2011 Peace Corps will celebrate its 50th anniversary and honor the contributions and accomplishments of Volunteers,
staff, and host countries over the last five decades. The EE2 RPCV group will hold its reunion in conjunction with the PC 50th celebration. Here is the preliminary schedule for the PC events:
September 22: No details available; day or half-day of public service?
September 23: All-country Volunteer reunion on the Mall, where groups will have a reunion area set aside where they can share stories
and reconnect with each other, as well as with their counterparts and
post staff. This may be organized by country of service rather than by PC groups within country of service.
September 24: Diplomatic reception at the Library of Congress to honor the countries that have hosted Peace Corps Volunteers since 1961
September
date TBD: Congressional reception on Capitol Hill to honor
Congressional and national leaders who have been instrumental in the
success of the Peace Corps.
September 25: JFK grave wreath laying ceremony, procession of flags and celebratory program on the Mall.
EE2 Reunion: The EE2 reunion planning committee is already at work on coordinating our group's reunion with the PC 50th events and activities; bookmark this page and check back regularly for details on dates, times and locations of EE2 reunion activities.
